AI as the focus of WEIT 2023 Dealer Day
A year on from the inaugural WEIT in 2022, the organiser – computer technology distributor WESTech, spol. s r.o. – welcomed representatives of leading IT brands and other business partners to WEIT 2023. The second year of the WEIT Dealer Day, dedicated to AI, took place on Thursday 21 September 2023 at the x-bionic Hotel in Šamorín.
The Dealer Day opened at 9.30 a.m. with a mix of lectures and exhibitions. The likes of DELL Technologies, Brother, Legrand, Samsung, Cudy, Canon, ASUS, TP-Link, DJI, Kyocera, Lenovo, ZENS, Xiaomi, Oppo, and Mikrotik gave talks across two conference rooms.
The programme kicked off, of course, with welcoming speeches by Matej Sršeň, CEO of WESTech, spol. s r.o., and Rudolf Koubek, Sales & Purchasing Director.
Representatives of DELL Technologies, Lenovo, Apple, Legrand, Roborock, DJI, Asus, Brother, Canon, Logitech, Kyocera, TP-Link, Waki Vaks, TCL, Xiaomi, Fit Stream, 2N, FitStream, HP, Mikrotik, Oppo, Digitus by Assman and ZENS also made use of the spacious facilities of the x-bionic Hotel in Šamorín to hold product exhibitions.
After lunch and the final lecture by HP, the attendees proceeded to the most colourful of the rooms in the x-bionic sphere, the Tuli Cinema, where they were met by the panel discussion’s three speakers: Martin Maštalír, General Manager of Dell Technologies Slovakia, Ľuboš Krpelan, Business Lead & Client Executive for key governmental agencies at Microsoft Slovakia, and Juraj Podroužek, an expert on AI ethics from the Kempelen Institute of Intelligent Technologies. Shortly after 3 p.m., WEIT opened the gates to a talk on the hot topic of AI. Moderated by Katarina Štefánková, Marketing Director at WESTech, spol. s r.o., the panel discussion spent a busy one-hour block of the programme on this juicy topic.
The day was rounded off with a competitive AI quiz, which tested how much attention the attendees had paid during the panel discussion by asking questions on related topics. Those participants who answered the questions correctly were rewarded with great prizes that had been donated to the raffle by the partners of WESTech, spol. s r.o.
There was a terrific turnout on the day, with more than 300 participants in attendance, and the conference organiser is already working on further partner meetings in 2024.

Once the daytime programme was over, there was a break of a couple of hours before the x-bionic Hotel was transformed into the venue for an AI-themed VIP party in the evening. At this gala reception, the attendees were greeted by an AI avatar, who handed over the floor to the evening’s moderator, Marcel Forgáč. He certainly lived up to his billing, with his humorous interludes playfully introducing the evening’s speeches by the CEO of WESTech, spol. s r.o. Matej Sršeň, and the CEO of DELL Technologies Slovakia, Martin Maštalír, who delivered his address on behalf of the event’s main partner.
After an introductory toast, guests enjoyed a sumptuous buffet, delicious drinks, and kegs featuring a selection of special craft beers, which proved to be a great success and, like last year, were soon drained.
The programme then continued with a spectacular musical performance by Dara Rolins and Igor Kmet’o jr., who got a large part of the attendees onto the dance floor. Those guests who preferred not to dance were able to stop by the Fun Face video corner and come away with a 3D video, while away the hours enjoying some networking over their favourite drinks, or take in the late-summer evening on the terrace of the x-bionic Hotel.
Altogether, the activities, the programme and the lavish buffet made for another wonderful evening in the luxurious facilities of the x-bionic Hotel that the partners of WESTech, spol. s r.o. will remember for a long time to come.
